TIPS FOR VIEWING PICTURES

Our pictures will load best if your screen resolution is set to 800 x 600. If you're not sure what your settings are, click your Windows Start button, then click Settings, next Control Panel. In your Control Panel, double click the Display icon. Next, click on the Settings tab toward the top of the Display Properties menu. A little slide mechanism (labeled Screen Area) appears near the bottom right corner of the box. Click on the slide handle with your lefthand mouse button, and hold the button down. Now, drag the slide either right or left to set the resolution to 800 x 600. Finally, click OK.

When viewing pictures, please wait until the picture fully loads before clicking anything else (this should take no more than a few seconds). If you don't wait, subsequent pictures may become hidden in the Windows background.

On some versions of Netscape, the following information may be pertinent:

First of all, when you click a PHOTO link (identified by a camera icon), a new, smaller window will override part of your web browser, with the card's image within this new window. If the original (large) window in which your web browser appears is maximized, then when you reclick within it, it may cover the small picture window. It may then appear that the PHOTO links are not working. However, that's not the case. If you click the Netscape icon on your Windows taskbar (generally at the bottom of your screen), then the image will reappear. This can become tedious if you're viewing lots of cards. A more practical approach may be to resize you browser's window so that it takes up roughly 60% of the screen from left to right. Then the PHOTO window will fit nicely side by side with the browser. You can then adjust each window's size until you get a good fit.

If you're using AOL's browser, you're on your own. AOL seems to use their own protocol, and nothing seems to work correctly. The pictures simply will not appear where we intend. We suggest you download IE 5.0 (you can use it while logged on to AOL).

Also, please note that cards with a horizontal format have been scanned in a vertical alignment, so they'll fit within the same PHOTO window as those cards in a vertical format.

Please do not ask us standard windows questions, such as how to resize, how to save, etc. We have presupposed that you already have such knowledge, and we simply don't have the time to tutor. We hope you'll understand.
